September 2026

Do you want to eat better? Get fit? Lower your blood pressure or cholesterol? Manage your stress? Sure, you can go it on your own, but do you know what’s been proven to work better when it comes to getting healthy? Working with a Wellness Coach.

The great news is Wellness Coaching is included in your TRS health plan. And the best part? It won’t cost you a dime.

Wellness coaches are credentialed health experts. They’ll work one-on-one with you using evidence-based guidelines, proven motivational techniques and goal setting to help you reach your goals.

Wellness coaches include:

  • Nutritionists
  • Dietitians
  • Nurses
  • Personal trainers
  • Mental health specialists
  • And other specialists

Your coach will:

  • Learn about your lifestyle and habits
  • Design a plan to help you reach your goals
  • Offer inspiration and ideas along the way

$0 Wellness Coaching programs include:

  • Stress management — A behavioral health specialist can help you find creative, healthy ways to combat stress.
  • Fitness — A personal trainer can create a plan that’s right for your fitness level and goals.
  • Nutrition — A registered dietitian can help you understand your relationship with food and make healthy eating choices.
  • Weight loss and maintenance — Your coach will address behavioral or environmental factors that may help you reach your weight loss goals and help you stay at a healthy weight.
  • Cholesterol improvement — A nurse can help you make lasting lifestyle changes to lower your cholesterol.
  • Blood pressure improvement — A nurse will help you concentrate on lowering your blood pressure through exercise, dietary habits, quitting tobacco and managing stress.
  • Smoking cessation — Your coach will work with you to help you understand the physical and psychological factors of addiction.
You may see multiple programs you want to do with a wellness coach, and that's great! You can do as many programs as you want, but only one at a time.

  • Meet with your coach. Once you're registered for wellness coaching, you can exchange secure messages with your coach through the Well onTarget Member Wellness Portal or the AlwaysOn® App. You can also speak to your coach on the phone.
  • Create an action plan. Your coach will work with you to understand your needs. Then they'll create a plan that fits your lifestyle and help you set achievable goals.
  • Track your progress. Follow along in the portal or app. You can also connect your fitness devices and nutrition apps to track your progress.
  • Rack up points. You can earn Blue PointsSM for participating in wellness activities like going to the gym and connecting your fitness device. Redeem your points for gift cards when you’re ready to treat yourself.
