Starting Jan. 1, 2027, one company will handle billing for all TRS-Care plans. That company is Benefits Outsource, Inc. (BOI).
Payment Date Change
Your automatic payment (ACH draft) will move from the 8th to the 15th of the month.
What's Changing?
Right now, different companies bill you for medical, dental, and vision. Starting Dec. 31, 2026, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and MetLife will stop billing TRS-Care members. Before Dec. 31, this billing shows up as charges from HealthEquity/WageWorks (BCBSTX) or Interactive Medical Systems (MetLife).
Starting Jan. 1, 2027, Benefits Outsource Inc, Inc. (BOI) will send one bill for all your TRS-Care coverage. This includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision.
You should have already received a letter about this change from your old billing company.
If you already pay your medical or prescription premiums through BOI, here's what happens:
- BOI will add your dental and vision premiums (if you have them) to your BOI bill.
- You will not get a new account. Your account number stays the same.
- One bill will now cover all your plans.
Action needed from you: You must approve this new payment date. You can do this by:
- Filling out a new form, or
- Logging into your BOI account online
If you currently pay Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (through HealthEquity/WageWorks) or MetLife (through Interactive Medical Systems), here's what happens:
- BOI will set up a new account for you. You do not need to set up the account, but you will need to set up your online login.
- You will get a new account ID number.
- You will get a new bill. It will show your plans, rates, due dates, and how to pay.
- You can view and pay all your bills (medical, dental, vision) in one place, at Benefits Outsource, Inc.
- After Dec. 31, 2026, you will stop paying Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (HealthEquity/WageWorks) or MetLife (Interactive Medical Systems). Pay BOI instead.
How to Pay Your Bill
Option 1
Send a check or money order to the address below. Be sure to include your payment coupon and write your full name and Participant ID number on the memo line.

Option 2
You can pay by credit card, debit card, or automatic bank draft (ABD). Follow these steps:

Navigate to BOI
Go to boibenefits.com.

Sign In
Click Sign In, then Sign Up.

Verify Your Identity
Enter your email and create a password. Enter the CAPTCHA code.

Enter Details
Enter your Social Security number, zip code, and birth date.
- Tip: Use the zip code your employer had on file, if you moved recently.

Get a Code
Enter your phone number. You'll get a text message with a code.

Enter the Code
Enter that 6-digit code to confirm it's you.

Check Account
Click View Account to see your account.
