El Paso, Texas —Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) is pleased to announce the opening of its first regional office to better provide services to the growing number of our members who live or work in Texas Education Service Center regions 18 (Midland) and 19 (El Paso).

Voter Approval Means Increased Annuities Will Go Out in January 

AUSTIN — Eligible annuitants of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) will begin receiving a permanent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to their monthly annuity payments beginning in January 2024. Voters approved a constitutional amendment on November 7 allowing TRS to issue the COLA. TRS will notify eligible annuitants about their annuity percentage increase.

Caasi Lamb returns to TRS to continue her career serving Texans

AUSTIN — The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) is pleased to announce the hire of Caasi Lamb as the pension trust fund’s newest deputy director, with a scheduled start date of Monday, July 8, 2024. Lamb replaces Andrew Roth who this month left TRS after five years to lead the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association as CEO.
