What is the SAA Study and why is it important?

TRS’ Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) Study refines the Trust’s target allocation to various asset classes that are aimed at helping the Investment Management Division (IMD) achieve the Trust’s stated longterm objectives. Overseen by the Board’s Investment Management Committee, the IMD researches and develops recommendations for Board discussion and approval via its Study.

TRS Trustees Vote to Authorize “13th Check” for Eligible Retirees and Beneficiaries

86th Legislative Session Brings other Significant Changes

AUSTIN – The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) Board voted unanimously today to authorize a one-time supplemental payment to most members who retired on or before Dec. 31, 2018. The retirees will receive a payment in either the amount of their monthly annuity or $2,000, whichever is less. TRS expects the payments to be issued in early fall.

Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) Seeks Nominations for Public School District Employee Trustee Election

AUSTIN – TRS is now accepting nominations for eligible members to qualify as candidates for the election of the Public School District Employee position on the TRS Board of Trustees. The term begins as early as Sept. 1, 2021 and ends Aug. 31, 2027.
